In an effort to keep patrons informed of the budget status for Jordan School District, the Board of Education will update this section as new information is made available.
For the 2010-11 school year Jordan School District anticipates at least a $29.2 million shortfall. The administration has recommended solution options in the areas of: additional personnel cuts, program and service cuts, transfer of expenditures to other programs, compensation, class size, and taxes. The Board is also anticipating additional cuts from the State in the range of $2-$12 million.
This section includes a presentation that illustrates the budget reduction options presented to the Board of Education on Nov. 17, 2009, by Superintendent Barry L. Newbold. The Board will review these options in detail over the next several months. Through an online survey, the Board is asking the public and employees for input about their preferences for reducing the District’s budget.
