Jordan School District is currently providing Choice Transportation options to students residing in the boundaries of Midvale, East Midvale, and Sandy Elementary. In addition, Supplemental Educational Services (SES) are provided for students currently attending Midvale Elementary during the 2008-2009 school year.

Choice Transportation
Students who live in the boundaries for Midvale, East Midvale, and Sandy Elementary Schools have been offered Choice Transportation to two local public elementary schools. These schools are East Sandy Elementary and Midvalley Elementary. Twenty-two students participated in the Transportation option for the 2008-2009 school year.  District bus transportation is utilized to transport these students at a cost of approximately $45,000 for the 2008-2009 school year. 

Supplemental Education Services (Ses) – sometimes called Free Tutoring
The Free Tutoring option has been an excellent program this year.  We are currently working with 3 vendors that have been approved by the Utah State Office of Education..  The vendors are:  A+ Professional Tutoring; American Preparatory Academy (APA), and the University of Utah Reading Clinic (UURC).  Currently, only students at Midvale Elementary are eligible for this tutoring service. We have a total of 222 students participating in the tutoring program after school.  Students are tutored 2-4 times each week. Reading and Math skills are the primary focus. Tutoring is being provided at a cost to JSD of approximately $250,000.

Each vendor has provided Student, Parent, and District Contracts.  All forms have been translated into Spanish. A nutritious snack is also provided directly after school.
