How to Apply
Applying for classes is a simple task. Most classes offered will come with a registration form attached. Simply fill out the form and return it to Curriculum/Staff Development at the District office.
Some classes require a Classified Staff Development Registration Form. This form is available at the district office in Room 219, Curriculum/Staff Development. Any advertisement of classes will instruct you how to apply.
Requirements
Participants must attend all class sessions and complete the assignments to receive a certificate for the class.
Funding for Classes
Employees who desire to take classes approved by CPIC may fund them in the following way:
1. Employee pays for class by personal check or money order.
2. Employee may request the use of staff development funds from their department, director, or principal. All departments and schools have a staff development fund. Payment is made by check or journal entry.
3. Employee completes a Classified Staff Development Registration form available from the Staff Development Department at the district office. The registration form is then forwarded, by staff development, to the JCPA President who will approve or disallow payment of the class using classified inservice funds.
Professional Development Days
Professional Development Days are days for classified employees who take a class or course during the workday. The CPIC committee must approve these professional development days. You may apply for a professional development day through your designated administrative representative. Your supervisor must approve the request. A form is available for Classified Professional Development Inservice Day in room 219 Curriculum/Staff Development of the district office.

The committee functions to help classified employees gain needed skills and abilities. As a classified employee, you may want to suggest a class for your own improvement. You may email, telephone, or contact any one of the above committee members to receive information about applying for a class or suggesting classes for the committee to approve. Suggestions for classes to be taught must be accompanied by suggestions for teachers who would be available, knowledgeable, experienced in the subject.
