Jordan
School District offers the prestigious International
Baccalaureate (IB) program at Hillcrest High. The IB program is a rigorous
academic program recognized around the world for high school juniors
and seniors.
There are more than 1,000 IB schools in more than 100 counties. The
curriculum is set by a board of international educators in Geneva,
Switzerland. Students are required to study and be tested in English,
social science, math, science, a foreign language and an IB elective
during their junior and senior years.
In addition, IB students are required to take a theory of knowledge
class, participate in 150 hours of community involvement and write
an investigative research paper. By successfully completing all the
requirements, students are eligible to receive a diploma that is recognized
internationally.
The program also helps students be academically prepared to study
at any major American university.
