ADAAA Compliance

International Symbol of AccessThe Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA) are comprehensive federal, civil rights laws that require public accommodations to provide goods and services to people with disabilities on an equal basis with the rest of the general public.  This legislation ensures equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities in employment, public accommodations, transportation, State and local government services (such as public education), and telecommunications.  The ADA and ADAAA protect individuals with impairments that substantially limit a major-life activity.  The laws also provide protection for individuals who might experience episodic disabilities, or conditions that may go into remission.

All Jordan School District facilities are deemed ADA accessible.  Requests for assistive listening devices, enlarged written materials or other accommodations to access a facility, program, or service should be directed to the school principal/department director or contact June LeMaster via e-mail or phone at 801-567-8222.  Providing at least 72 hours advance notice will help to ensure availability.

Jordan School District also strives to make its web page material accessible and usable.  We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 developed by the World Wide Web Consortium Level AA for guidance.  If you are having difficulty accessing content or are aware of a specific concern, please submit a website feedback request on our Contact Us page.
