About Crescent Elementary

Logo"A Continuing Tradition of Excellence"
We strive to create a positive, proactive, and safe educational environment. Our goal is to establish a nurturing, motivating, exciting learning experience, emphasizing language arts, mathematics, and science. We work hard to meet individual needs, and develop problem solving and higher level thinking skills. Our school promotes the development of respect, responsibility, caring, and good citizenship that will help prepare our students for the opportunities of an ever-changing world.

  • Belief Statements
  • Every student can learn, under the correct circumstances.
  • It is a privilege for our faculty to provide a safe environment for all students.
We all possess talents that can help others if shared.
  • Parents, teachers, and students need to work together to achieve success.
  • Crescent Dynamics
  • The school was built in 1981. Many of our students have community roots dating back to pioneer days. We enjoy a strong partnership between students, parents, faculty, and community.
  • Crescent operates on a 3-track year-round schedule (A,C,D). Our school begins at 8:50 a.m. and ends at 3:50 p.m. On Fridays our students are released at 1:50 p.m. Our teachers use the remaining two hours to prepare.
  • Our student enrollment is around 700 students in grades Kindergarten through sixth.
  • Crescent has 30 certificated teachers, eight with Master's Degrees, and one that is National Board Certified. Eight teachers are ESL endorsed, one is art endorsed, three are gifted endorsed, one is music endorsed, and there are two with reading endorsements.
  • Crescent Elementary received the FIVE STAR AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE given by Jordan School District Board for "Outstanding School Public Relations", 2008.
  • Our students have read over ONE MILLION minutes during each of the last three years.
  • Parent volunteers log over 1200 volunteer hours each year.
  • We welcome visitors. Always check into the front office for a visitor's pass.
Student Achievement

Criterion Referenced Tests (CRT)
The Core Criterion Referenced Tests (CRTs) are administered at the end of each school year to help assess how well students have mastered the standards and objectives set forth in the State of Utah Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science core curricula.   Student achievement is reported as the percent of students reaching “proficient” by earning a Level 3 or Level 4 performance on the Core CRT.
