Willow Springs Elementary is building a legacy as it opened its door for the first time in July of 2006 in the city of Draper.

- Willow Springs utilizes a year-round schedule (45 days on and 15 days off) and has a common vacation in July
- School starts at 8:25 a.m. and ends at 3:25 p.m., except on Fridays school ends at 1:25 p.m. to give the teachers a time to plan and prepare
- Currently Willow Springs serves over 655 students in K-6
- Teachers work in teams to develop lesson materials and provide the best instruction for their students
- Willow Springs has excellent teachers to reach the needs of all students, including an exceptional special education team
- Curriculum is taught in accordance to the state and district guidelines
- Willow Springs has a take home reading program. Students in grades K-3 are given a book on their level daily to take home to read to their parents
- A computer lab is available for the use of all students along with great aides to assist teachers and students. The students get to play educational games, do research, learn typing skills, and use great programs like KidPix and PowerPoint
- Willow Springs is also fortunate to have a special education preschool right here in our own building. There are two sessions ranging in age from three to five. The preschool ranges from all levels of disability--very severe to those needing speech therapy. There are also typically developing students in the class that help to provide modeling for other students in areas of social skills, speech, and age appropriate development. There are “screenings” twice a month to help identify children who may be in need of such a great service provided here at Willow Springs.
- Willow Springs has an outstanding PTA in its community
- Each grade has parent volunteers donating many hours to help students and teachers directly
- Willow Springs students participate in the Meet The Master’s program, where students learn about a variety of artists. A parent volunteer comes into each classroom to do an art lesson with each artist where the students get to use techniques and skills learned from the specific artist.
