ABOUT WEST JORDAN HIGH

West Jordan High School opened in 1981 and is located southwest of Salt Lake City. West Jordan High School’s campus sits on 50 acres of land and is a modern facility that meets the needs of today's students and will continue to serve our students, staff, and community well into the future. The school's 102 self-contained classrooms and numerous specialty areas house a comprehensive high school program.

Through the combined efforts of teachers, students, parents and administrators, West Jordan High provides an atmosphere conducive to learning-a place where students share experiences, meet new friends, and develop a sense of belonging as they learn and grow. The school's primary purpose is to help students master the basic skills which are essential to productive living and good citizenship.

  • LogoOur school serves 2,008 students. Enrollment is growing steadily, and growth in the area is expected to continue for another 20 years.
  • School is in session 180 days each year. The school day begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 2:25 p.m. Class periods are approximately 90 minutes each. Each class is held every other day on a rotating A-B block schedule.

  • We have active PTA and School Community Group organizations whose primary goals are to provide school support and increase community involvement in education.
