ABOUT UNION MIDDLE
Union Middle School,
located in north Sandy City, has maintained a tradition
of excellence since the school's opening in 1968. Union
teachers are challenging students to meet both their
own and the school's high standards. Teachers expect
the best from students and express confidence in their
ability to learn and take personal responsibility for
their studies
Parent support in the quest for excellence is well evident.
About 80 percent of the parents regularly participate
in parent/teacher conferences, and many willingly contribute
hours of volunteer services to the school each week.
Over 40 percent of the Union parents have completed
four or more years of college training, which indicates
that education is valued by the Union community.
With the cooperation of students, teachers, custodians
and other staff, Union has maintained a special attractiveness
through the years. Expansive windows, lovely courtyards
and arboretums add to the school's unique beauty. Self-contained
classrooms, a full-size gymnasium, auditorium, media
center and other support areas provide an excellent
learning environment.
