Jordan School District Results for 2009 Federal Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and
Utah Performance Assessment System for Students (U-PASS)

The Adequate Yearly Progress report is required by federal “No Child Left Behind” legislation and provides another way to look at test scores.  Rather than presenting total school scores as other reports do, the report divides students within a school into subgroups for evaluation in several different ways.  The subgroups are: Asian, African American, American Indian, Caucasian, Hispanic, Pacific Islander, Economically Disadvantaged, Limited English Proficient, and Students with Disabilities.  All children with IQ’s of 55 or above are required to participate in the testing program regardless of severe learning disabilities or intellectual handicaps.  This means that children with intellectual abilities significantly below normal are expected to perform as well as students with average or above average abilities.

The Utah Performance Assessment System for Students (U-PASS) is to provide information about how students in Utah schools are doing relative to the Utah State Core Curriculum and State requirements for school performance. The following links are provided by the Utah State Office of Education in accordance with Utah State law.

If you have any questions about the data, please contact the school for more information. Please note that school U-PASS and AYP result details are hosted at the Utah State Office of Education U-PASS site.  AYP results are in PDF format.
